Bean with Ham Soup

Bean with Ham Soup from Kathrynseppamaki.com #realfood #glutenfree #grainfree

This is another classic recipe that reminds me of my Mom. She absolutely loved eating bean with ham soup and as a result I was raised eating this soup. It is complete comfort food to me. My Mom loved to make it throughout the fall and winter months because it not only was great for warming me up when I was cold, but it was hearty enough to stay with me for awhile. The recipe is made even more simple by cooking in the slow cooker (which is probably my favorite small appliance).

This soup is great paired with cornbread or some fresh gluten free biscuits! If you don’t want a bread type of side, try it with a nice veggie rich salad. I almost always have applesauce with it…just a childhood thing!

Bean with ham soup is naturally gluten free and is grain free as well. It is not Paleo friendly. I have included two recipes….one that is family sized and one that serves two.

Here is the version that serves only two.
