When fall rolls around, it is time for apple season. And I look excitedly for the appearance of Macintosh apples in my local supermarket. They are absolutely my favorite apple for baking. I guess that is because I grew up in Michigan and Macintosh apples are the quintessential Michigan apple. These apples are perfect for this recipe of baked apples with cinnamon!

I grew up smelling the wonderful smell of these delicious apples baking. So when I found some Macintosh apples yesterday, I had to share a fantastic baked apple recipe that is not only delicious, but super easy to make. Apples with cinnamon can be eaten by itself or topped with real fresh whipped cream or homemade vanilla ice cream for a real treat!

It is very quick to make and the perfect fall dessert for one person. But you could easily double or triple the recipe to serve more people! Serve this topped with homemade whipped cream or maybe some organic vanilla ice cream.
