The mind is a powerful thing! It is easy to take for granted how powerful the human mind really is. If you spend your time thinking about negative things, you will draw more of the negative into your life. Constant negative focus is also detrimental to your health. This is because negative thoughts create stress.
In the book The Power of the Subconscious Mind by Joseph Murphy, he tells the story of a man who went to visit a fortune teller who told him that one year from that day he would die. This man was and had always been very healthy. But as the time past, and that deadline approached, he began to worry. He spent his time focused on what the fortune teller said. And as he worried more and more, he began to get sick as a result of the stress. He ultimately did die one year after the fortune teller told him he would. But it was because of the stress he created in his own mind. It was that extreme stress that led him to become ill and eventually die.
At the same time, there are many stories of people who have been paralyzed as result of accidents. Many have been told that they will never walk again. Some who choose not to believe what the doctors say ultimately end up walking again. The positive belief that they held helped them to walk again. Do you think the same thing would’ve happened if they chose to believe that they would remain in a wheelchair for the rest of their lives?
The law of attraction is the idea that like attracts like, and so if you are focused on negative things, more of the negative will appear in your life. At the same time when you make the choice to focus on the positive, amazing things begin to happen in your life.
