This may shock a lot of people, but I am not a coffee drinker. There are so many people that can’t live without their coffee, that it’s hard for them to understand those of us who are not so inclined to imbibe the caffeinated goodness. But coffee just hasn’t been my things. Chai tea however is! And along with that, I love pumpkin spice season, because both use all of the same great spices!

I have been wanting to make a nice hot pumpkin spice milk based drink for awhile. Since I’m not so big on pumpkin spice lattes, I decided to create this recipe, just to see how it tasted. Of course, I wanted to add some nutrient rich goodness to it, to make it even more beneficial to the body!

I did this by adding some Collagen Hydrolysate. This is the type I keep in my cupboard. I also wanted to add some good fat, so I added some cultured butter! You could add coconut oil or even some MTC oil.

If you are not having to watch blood sugar levels, you can use Sucanat to sweeten this. If blood sugar is an issue for you, then sweeten with Stevia instead!

I was really amazed at how good this was! What is even better is that the spices used in pumpkin spice have some great health boosting properties of their own!

This is definitely going to be a great “go to” drink recipe during the cooler months!

Hot Pumpkin Spice Milk

This simple drink recipe is full of flavor, and even healthier with the addition of a couple of added ingredients!

  • 1 cup milk can use non-dairy milks
  • 2 tbsp pumpkin puree
  • 1 tbsp Sucanat or Stevia to taste
  • 1/2 tsp pumpkin spice
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp Collagen Hydrolysate
  • 1-2 tbsp butter or coconut oil can also add MTC oil


  1. Place the milk, pumpkin puree, sweetener, vanilla and pumpkin spice in small saucepan.

  2. Heat on medium heat until the milk begins to warm

  3. Add the collagen and butter and allow to warm to the temperature you desire.

  4. Pour into a mug and enjoy!

Want to make this recipe a pumpkin spice latte? Add 1/4-1/2 cup strong coffee and stir well!
