Making your own taco seasoning mix is simple to do and allows you to control what you are putting in it and what you are feeding to your family. It allows you to customize things like the amount of spiciness in your seasoning mix.
Homemade taco seasoning mix is great for tacos, taco salads, vegetable dips and so much more. If one batch isn’t enough, then you can make multiple batches and store them in air tight containers in your pantry or cupboard!

Taco Seasoning Mix
- 1 tbsp chili powder
- ¼ tsp onion powder
- ¼ tsp garlic powder
- ¼ tsp ground cayenne red pepper
- ¼ tsp dried oregano
- ½ tsp paprika
- 1½ tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
Add all ingredients to an airtight container. Shake the container well to mix.
Great to use with pastured ground beef, ground turkey or ground chicken. Simply use 2-4 tsp per pound (or more to taste). Add ½ to 1 cup of water and allow the water to cook away. *If you like your taco seasoning a little less spicy, simply leave out the cayenne pepper
